Well, after day 1 of Quarantine I think I would never say it --but today is day 13 and you know, it's not so bad. Like actually it's pretty enjoyable. This week was hype. We started teaching 4 new people and they are all really cool! We also have been able to reach out to a lot of returning members and have lessons with people that haven't come to church in months! In total we taught 23 lessons this week which is unheard of for me. And most of those lessons were teaching the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We taught it to 5 our of friends and taught it about 8 or 9 times to members! It has strengthened my testimony of the restoration so much. There is so much power in the first vision specifically. When Joseph Smith went into that grove of trees the whole world changed. It changed for me and for you even if you don't notice it. God the Father and his Son Jesus christ reached out to us -- to our generation -- in LOVE. They love us so much and are preparing us in this last dispensation for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love the talk given in a recent General Conference "Are you sleeping through the Restoration?" It is still ongoing and we get to be on the front line -- quite literally with this whole virus situation. We get to preach the Lord's gospel to all that want to hear it. It is times like these that people start to slow down and open up. They have time to sit and thing about life's big questions and we are really seeing the results of that. I would have never dreamed of teaching like this earlier on my mission. I'm so grateful to be a servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Sunday we also had a online church meeting for the congregation and I loved what our Bishop said. He read us Mosiah 2:5-6 but with some small changes.
And it came to pass that when they came up to the temple, they pitched their tents round about, every man according to his family, consisting of his wife, and his sons, and his daughters, and their sons, and their daughters, from the eldest down to the youngest, every family being separate one from another.
6 And they pitched their tents round about the temple, every man having his tent with the door thereof towards the temple, that thereby they might remain in their tents and hear the words which king Benjamin should speak unto them;
He then told us rather than tents to use cellphone or screens. They angled their screens to the conference center. He then noted how we all were seperated in this vidoe call according to our families. With our screens facing towards the prophet in preperation for general conference. With everyone remaining in their homes (b/c of quarantine) to hear the words of the prophet. I thought it was very profound and I too am very excited to hear the prophet and the words of the apostles next week.
Elder Steanson and I have started taking screenshots while waiting for our friends to pick up video calls. So enjoy
