Chapter 19- Alphabet Soup

This week was pretty good. We are finally starting to see some progress with some of the people we are teaching which is awesome. So one of our friends Kerstin has had a pretty hard life and she struggles to see the positive things in her life and so we have made it our goal to brighten her day and to help her feel the love of her heavenly father. We had a meeting with her on Wednesday last week, we had asked her to read a chapter from the book of Mormon and we highlighted a few verses in it. In the few weeks that she has been taught she hasn't kept commitments very well and we had begun discussing dropping her because she wasn't making any progress. But this week she had read the verses we highlighted and had a question about it!!!! It was really a miracle, and even though the progress is slow it's happening. She comes to church every week and every time we go over we can see her countenance change. We talked about baptism and invited her to baptism. She said that she would think about it. We also invited her over to a members house for dinner on Saturday and it was really good for her to have a little fun and get out of the house. The member is a convert and she shared her story. Kerstin said that she doesn't want to rush into the decision, but she thinks it is something that she wants in the future. She still has a long way to ago because she has some comprehension problems, but she'll get there.

We also had another meeting with our friend Bhavin. He is super awesome and had randomly picked out a place to read in the book of Mormon in between our appointments. He read Mosiah chapters 12 and 13, which as far as random picking goes is pretty solid picks. It is about Abinadi and king Noah. It was a great spring board into talking about prophets and the first lesson. At then end we invited him to keep reading and to pray. He said that he always prays and that he knows that God answers his prayers. He said he would pray about the book of Mormon. It was super awesome lesson, we met his son the first time but the son was busy at this appointment, but he said his son is really interested as well so we are really excited.

It's going good in the little town of Werdau, and I wish you all a great week.

Also quick note: I would NOT recommend trying to melt down gummy bears with some butter and trying to make some fruity flavored caramel. (Note they were alphabet gummies and so it was alphabet soup for a sec ðŸ˜‚😂)
Aftermath of such an attempt below -- it was nasty and we had to hammer it out of the cupcake pan.....
