Yeah, I'm still here. Lowkey lost track of how many days I've been in Quarantine. We are getting close to 30.
Well, just like normal quarantine weeks this week was lit. We were thinking, huh this week was a little slower than normal - - but than I realized that it is still more than I ever had when we did work outside.
The members are Flippin awesome though and have been bringing us food all the time - - or ding-dong-ditching us the food rather.
This week I joined some Turkish learning Facebook groups and have Skype with 2 people in Turkey and practiced with them. I wish I had done it at the beginning of my mission...it was so helpful.
Our friends are doing great! One of my all time favorite experiences of my mission was our lesson with Lili this week. We have been using my friend Liu as a joint teach. I had the privilege of teaching and working with Liu when he first got to know the church in Jena. It's been about a year and a half and it was the most amazing thing to hear his testimony and watch him share it with his friends. As we were teaching Lili I had so many flashbacks to teaching Liu. They are both so open and willing to try new things. Lili has been praying often on her own and said that it really helps her and gives her more motivation and helps her work better. She also has been reading in the Book of Mormon on her own and has a lot of questions. She had a few questions about baptism because she didn't understand really what it was as she was reading. Liu then gave an awesome explanation and compared it to having a "spiritual birthday" and I thought it was super cool.
Another super awesome lesson was with our friend Adolfo. We taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ and focused on Jesus's divine mission and purpose. We asked him what he taught Christ's mission was. I love his answer. He said "He was a teacher, and healer and most importantly he took our sins upon him - - aka Savior. I think that is a perfect summary of his mission. He taught us how to live and how to return to live with the Father. He was a healer. Not only a healer of physical ailments, but of spiritual sickness. He heals us of our worries, anxieties, weaknesses, everything that we cannot do on our own. He took that all upon himself and heals us. Most importantly he is our Savior. During this Easter season it is the perfect opportunity to reflect on his sacrifice for all of us. He saved us from both physical and spiritual death. So that we may live - - in every sense of the word.
Love you all!
