Chapter Corona

Hello everyone!

I'm sure you have had enough information about Corona to last you till the next century. I'm fine. Germany is fine. Just remember to fight Corona with Toilet paper, if you wrap the virus in enough paper it can't get out to infect you. Toilet paper is it's only weakness.....

Anyway, Corona hasn't effected our day to day life to much here as of yet. We of course have no Sunday church meetings, which is pretty sad because we have so many friends that we are working with right now! The senior couple missionaries have been sent home, in addition to a few young missionares that had preexisting conditions. It's sad to see many of them go.

But despite the virus we have had a 'killer' week. We had about 17 appointments with week! We have started teaching 2 new friends and also have started working with 3 new returning members. There is a lot to do around here. Good thing too, because we have to fill our time up somehow, since our street displays and Sprach Cafes are on hold until things calm down.

Patrick and Elisabeth are still making really good progress and were planning on coming to church....

My favorite experience this week though was with member family we started working with. We had a really great lesson this week with a less active family, the mother is a single parent with 3 children. The oldest having just turned 8 years old. We entertained the children by throwing some toys around during the lesson, but relating everything back to the gospel. The family hasn't been to church in years, but the mother has still taught her children about Christ and they gave great answers to why Christ is so important. We asked what they knew about the Book of Mormon and they had never heard of it. So we gave a simple version of the first lesson. It was so powerful. When we came to the first vision we first showed them the laminated picture and asked them what they thought. They said 'Angels?' and we said they were close. Then they commented on how similar they both look. We then told them that it was God and Jesus Christ. The 8 year old daughter's jaw visibly dropped to the floor and she whispered out a 'Waasss??' and then without much hesitation she went on to say 'Ja, das macht Sinn. Mama hat mir immer gesagt das Jesus macht nur was seine Vater macht; das heißt dass sie ähnlich aussehen würden.'
It was so cool to see a child comprehend the simple truths of the gospel and to see the mother also soften seeing her children being so engaged. At the end we got the children really pumped and excited to come to church and invited the mother to bring them. We had them committed and excited about the gospel again. It was really sad that church was canceled, but we are visiting them again this week and are excited to keep working with them.

Hope yall are stayin well. Don't forget to fight with your toilet paper stash.

Bye bye
