Well buckle your seat belts, cause you are in for a ride.
So sorry that I didn't send an email last week, but here is what happened. So we got our transfer calls and both Elder Orton and I left Werdau and I moved to Tiergarten Berlin and I am training! That means that I get a fresh missionary straight from the training center in the US. It's been a flippin' blast this week. I don't even know where to start because there has been tons of crazy cool miracles.
So on Tuesday I traveled up to Berlin and spent most of the day with Elder Bentz (who is taking over Werdau and was also picking up a trainee in Berlin) and so we were exploring the city together and highkey I was like super overwhelmed because this place is so flippin' big and confusing. We have U-bahns which are like subways, strassenbahns which are street cars and then buses. And to travel sometimes you have to take all three. But ya its flippin crazy. Umm ya.
So like this city is so cool. I feel like people are so open to new ideas and willing to listen to us way more than in my previous areas, and there are just sooo many people -- like you can never run out. In my other areas finding was kinda a struggle sometimes cause you had to walk around a lot more, but here you can go anywhere. The city is super cool too. On p-day today we did a ton of the tourist stuff in Berlin and ill send some pics. Also for p-day my good buddy Liu, from Jena, came to visit in Berlin and so we spent the day with him touring around and it was a blast.
The work was a little slow when we came in and so we have been doing a lot of finding and it is super fun. We have met lots of cool people and we have had a few appointments already and I am very hopeful for the future.
On the first full day with Elder Rich it was like I was in a new country. Like the first 3 people we talked to on the street we had a cool conversation and either gave a Book of Mormon away or swapped numbers and I told Elder Rich that he shouldn't get used to this haha because it was like a ton of success. Also the first time I took him dooring we had someone tell us to come up because they were interested and wanted to learn more -- on my entire mission this has only happened like 4 times after like literally dozens of hours. So we have had some cool miracles. Also we met someone in our same building that has interest and ya it is just really poppin' here and I am having the time of my life.
Oh also I live in the only 4 man apartment in the mission which is a ton of fun and we play soccer or basketball in the mornings and ya.
Sorry this email is really scatter brained and next week will be organized -- I'm just kinda still just on really high energy from this place and I can't calm down haha. I am just kinda running out of time soooo ya till next week.
Love y'all
- Elder Johnson
