Hello everyone! It's been a hot minute since my last weekly. Haha get it, HOT minute..... Cause it's been flippin crazy hot here.... like yesterday was 37C or a nice 98.6F whoooo. But we still going hard.
This last week we did a lot of street contacting (which was unfortunate that we did it this week because it was so hot), mostly because most of our friends that we have been teaching are gone on vacation or moved. So our good friend Alex in Plauen moved this week, and we helped him move on Friday. We had a awesome lesson with him earlier in the week and it is amazing to see how the gospel changes peoples lives. He invited us to come to his baptism in Wurms when it happens (but sadly we cant go since it is not in our mission boundaries :( ). Our friend Pattrick is on vacation, one of other new progressing friends Amadou is also on vacation but he said he'll keep reading the BoM when he is gone which is dope. Bhavin has kinda dropped off the face of the planet... and so yeah we havent had a whole lot to do.... So we have been increasing our member work and also doing lots of street contacting and dooring.
We had a cool experience this week doing contacting. So we spent the whole morning on the streets with little success, and so we took a break to do some studying in a near by park because it was shady and cool. (I say 'cool' but it was still BLAZING hot). Anyway, we were studying and we saw a family playing in the park. Now I saw this exact same family about 2 weeks ago at the same park and I thought how cool it would be to teach them because the family was just so cuuutee. They had three kids and two of them were twin daughters and they were very happy and funny. I saw them again and I thought oh we should go talk to them. But we were in the middle of studying and I didn't want to interrupt. So I dismissed the thought and kept studying. I looked up a few minutes later and they were gone. I was pretty disappointed and I thought 'ok, if I see them again I'll 100% go talk to them' about 10 minutes later they came back. I thought 'dang --- but Im still in the middle of a great study....' so I postponed it and dismissed it again... but the thought came back again and again and it got to the point where I couldn't focus on what i was reading soooo I was like 'yoooooooo ok we are gonna to talk to them' So we kinda awkwardly walk up to them (it was far away and not a whole lot of people around so it was pretty obvious that we were talking a LONGG walk up to them. But then we started talking and they were super interested! We sat down in the grass with them and just started talking. The father even said to the kids 'Sit down and listen to the word of the Lord' and so we talked with them about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon and we asked if we could come visit them and talk to them more about Jesus Christ and this book. They were very excited and the kids were also crazy. They were kinda jumping all over Elder Orton and I and giving us hugs and stuff. It was super awesome and I am very grateful for the Spirit of the Lord helping me and prompting me to the people that are ready for the gospel. I'm also very grateful for 2nd and 3rd tries. I dismissed a few thoughts that I should have followed and yet the Lord is forgiving and willing to help us. In the future I'll try and follow the spirit the 1st time and build the Lords trust in me to do His work. (Also we missed our train because we talked for them for too long, so if I went early we would have made it...)
Ya I really enjoy being here, even when it is boiling hot.
Also last p-day we went to Leipzig and rented Tandem bikes. It was lit. Here's some pics.
Also we biked to this statue thing. It's called the Völkerschlacht Denkmal. Or the people's slaughter memorial. It was where napoleon was defeated or something idk history but ya.
