Chapter 25-Klingling

Hallo Zusammen!

This week was kinda all over the place, but super good. So Tuesday both of our appointments fell out, and so were in Crimmetschau with a "white day" on our hands. This last week there was also no school because of easter/spring break -- so there were not very many people our on the streets and we had a whole day ahead of us. So we did some street contacting and then ended up doing a whole lot of 'klingling' (a good Denglisch word) or dooring/tracting whatever you wanna call it. It started out really slow, but then we met this really cool guy named Dylan that already knew about the missionaries a little and was interested. So we went inside and had a really awesome conversation about the Book of Mormon and the restoration-- he said he might come to church -- he didn't end up coming and hasn't responded to us -- but it was still nice to have a walk in appointment. We also doored into a nice older lady that we had a 20 minute conversation in the doorway and then she said we could come back another time and she lives right around the corner from a member so that was cool.

Wednesday was my birthday -- wooohooo im 19. (some pics below) We had a really good day lined up, aannnndd everything fell out.... again. It was pretty frustrating especially since we had already traveled to the cities where the appointments were, so it just wasted a lot of time.... But so is life.

But the highlight of the week was the conference with Elder and Sister Utchdorf! The whole conference was in german, and I could understand about 90-95% of it which is awesome. It was so cool to hear Elder Uchtdorf speak his native language. He taught us a lot and I noticed that the themes he taught us were very closely related to what all the prophets and apostles taught in General conference. That is a witness to me that what they are saying applies to everyone and that those things are VERY important. He talked about come and see, come and help, come and stay -- just like conference. He talked about loving the people and showing our light and example to the world and that we should be personal, normal and natural in our invitations. It was really awesome to hear from him!

The other big highlight of the week was that we are currently taking over the Plauen area -- some missionaries were emergency transfered out -- and the Plauen area got a Self-refferal. His name is Alexander and he is super awesome. When we contacted him, he responded to us in like 5 minutes and wanted to meet as soon as possible and basically made out the appointment himself. We went down to Plauen and met at the church building there -- little did we know that the branch was doing a spring cleaning and had some food at the end -- so when we got there (we were like 2 minutes late because of buses) Alex was already talking with some members and they had already invited him to church and gotten to know him a little. It was a super cool miracle. Then we went inside and had a really awesome lesson about Joesph Smith and the Book of Mormon. When we invited him to read and pray about it he gave the most definitive "I will" i have ever heard. (He's native german, but wanted us to teach in english cause he likes it better haha). He was drawn to our church because he noticed that we are the only church that believes God still speaks to men on the earth -- that the heavens aren't shut and that God speaks to us just like he did to all the prophets of old. It was a really awesome experience. He also went to church and sunday and really enjoyed it. We aree meeting with him again this week and are really excited.
Alsooo (sorry this is so long) -- on saturday after we met with Alexander, we had another appointment with a new friend named Adam that also went super well and we have a return appointment on Wednesday.
Bhavin and Viraj are doing well -- they canceled an appointment and didn't come to church though :(
Oliver is still sick and hasn't really been responding to us -- but I'm not too worried about him, it's just a matter of patience.
Kerstin is still struggling a lot, and it takes a lot of patience to teach her. But we are still working on it, and we have got a less active member involved to help us teach which strengthens him as well so that is cool.

Anyway, sorry this email is so long. It was a kinda crazy week, and hopefully we have some more success this week. Love you all. This gospel is true!

Just kidding my phone died.... and I don't have pictures on my tablet... so I shall send lots of them next week :)
