Hello everybody!
Quick recap of the week. Tuesday was transfer day and so we went to Leipzig and got our new companions. Elder Orton is awesome and we are going to have a great time together this transfer and we already had a pretty bomb-diggity week.
So on transfer day, one of the other Elders lost his phone on the train (gave me deja vu cause I did that laast transfer) except his didn't have a sim card.... But I had taken the particular train enough that I was pretty sure that it would come back around in about an hour and they could hop on real quick and ask the DeutschBahn workers if they found it and then hop off, so that's what they did and they actually got it back! So that was a cool miracle.
Then on Wednesday we were in Gera for basically the whole day and we had a really solid day. We got 2 cool new contacts from street contacting -- made contact with a less active member that actually wants to meet, and then had a good lesson with our friend Kerstin. Then when we got home and got a random call from a guy that said he wants to meet! I kept using 'Sie' (the german formal) and then he said that we are all brothers in Christ and that I should use 'du' the informal and I was like "ok bruder!". But we haven't met with him yet cause he was busy.
One of the contacts we found was also funny, she had to cancel an appointment that we had made out and so she said "enschuldigen mich in namen von Jesus Christus" or "excuse me/ im sorry in the name of jesus christ" which was pretty cool and kinda funny.
Thursday Elder Orton was super sick and so we can to cancel our service wiith our friend Gerhard, but we were still able to make it to English class in the evening. He is still kinda sick, but he powers through and we are still doing good work.
We had another good lesson with Bhavin, and he really wants to come to churhc -- but this time he just forgot about the daylight savings time change and so he didn't make it this week, but he promised we would come next week (for general conference!)
Saturday was lit though. We had a great appointment with Oliver and then I did a Turkish translation!!! The Zwickau sisters have a cool turkish man that they are teaching and so I did the translation! It was really hard, but it was so super good and we are going to meet again this week. I was happy to be able to finally use my Turkish.
Also other cool little miracle. We were on a train and I was reading a talk on my tablet, but I felt like I should take out my paper scriptures and start reading. So I did, and not 3 verses in the woman sitting on the seat across the aisle asked me if I was finished with the Old Testament yet. I laughed and explained that I was actually reading a different book and then I had a cool conversation with her for the next 20 minutes or so -- she didn't have a lot of interest in the church but I followed a prompting and was able to share more about the church. It was pretty cool.
I hope you all have a great week!
