Chapter 18-Blutwurst

Hello everyone! Y'all are all awesome. Sorry I skipped last week, but here is the down low on this week (with some stuff from the week before)

Lets start with a story shall we
So when we got here we had a new referral from the Sisters in Erfurt, the referral was the daughter of a recently baptized family, but she lived in our area and hasn't been taught the gospel. We reached out to her and set up an appointment, a few days before the appointment we started calling members to come help us teach her (since we can't teach her alone -- we need a 3rd man) and so we went through the list of all the normally available members that lived in this city, and not a single member could come!! We didn't really know what to do and we didn't want to cancel the appointment, so we planned on just going by at the time of our appointment, standing in the door and talking for a minute, introduce the Book of Mormon and then reschedule an appointment. We asked her if her husband was going to be home and she said no, but we were praying that somehow we could go in an teach her. When we went over she had a friend over (that was a guy) and so we ended up teaching both of them!! It was super awesome and answered our prayer.
-- We haven't been able to go back yet b/c she was out of town this week

We also had another miracle. We had an old contact from a few months ago just text us out of the blue and he wanted to meet with us! We were super excited and we met with him and his son. They seem super interested and were very accepting of everything. It was a pretty short meeting, because they had to run some errands, but we are meeting again with them this week!

Just some more basic info about the area. The ward has about 60 or so members in attendance each Sunday. Every Thursday we bike about an hour to this older gentleman's (his name is Gerhard) house and do service work in his garden and then he feeds us some food and we teach him. This has been happening for many years, but I think he is finally starting to make a little progress. When I first got here I asked him if he would say the blessing on the food for us, he declined and said that he never said the blessings. But then then next week he offered to say the prayer and to close he said "..... and as you say in your church, in the name of Jesus Christ amen" It was really cool to see that. Then after the service, we come back on Thursdays and we teach 2 English classes. One for beginners and one advanced class, it is really fun and most of the people that come are really old non-members and they are always really funny and it is a good time.

That's about it for now. But here are lots of pics

1. German Burger -- I gotta say, it was better than 95% of american burgers I've had. But maybe its just cause I haven't had one in a long time......
2. The garden we work on Thursdays (its super pretty, but I can't send all the pics I have of it)
3. Cooking Orange chicken with Elder Cheung (still doesn't beat Panda Express Orange chicken but its alllmmoosst there)
4. Two of our favorite members, Danny and Farhad after church
5. Mirror selfie after biking to an appointment
6, 7, 8. Some Blutwurst and Zungenwurst that I said I would send pics of awhile ago -- I would not recommend it, the taste wasn't really that bad, but the texture was whack it kinda like melted in your mouth and then you realize you are eating blood and it kinda gets to you......
