Chapter 13-Updates on Stuff

Ok, so my emails have been short cool stories the past few weeks. I'm still going to do a story at the beginning every week (cause I know when I read missionary weeklys I lose interest about 1/2 through --- so y'all can just read the cool story of the week). But then I'll do some more stories and updates on people too.

Miracle/Story of the Week:
This was actually last sunday (8 days ago), but it's a dope story. So last Sunday we had the mission president come to our Ward for church. It was super awesome, but a little disappointing for us. Normally we have around 5-6 friends at church each week, and this week when President Leimer was there we had a whopping 0..... #GotHumbled... What I realized that day when I felt that disappointment was that I shouldn't be trying to kiss up to the mission president or "look good" --- because none of that matters. What matters is integrity and that I have a good relationship with God and that I feel proud and comfortable with the work I do and I am only accountable to God. Not to worldly pride and "numbers". ------ So after the meetings, we didn't have any appointments or anything planned and so we went and did some visits. We went by on a few people and no one was home.... Our last planned visit was to our friend Tiburce, who we haven't seen in a long time b/c of vacation and he was sick etc. We went by and klingled (rang his app. door) and no one answered, but the mail lady let us in and we went up to his room. He klingled his door and this other guy who we have never seen before answered the door. We started talkin (in german of course) and he said he didn't speak german, but he spoke good english. We started talking and Tiburce was in the shower he said, but we asked him where he was from. He said Azerbaijian. Guess what they speak in Azerbaijian. Turkish!!! So I started talking in Turkish with him and we was super cool, we went in and talked with him for about 30 min while Tiburce was getting ready. It was super awesome. We told him who we were and stuff, and he said that he had seen Tiburce's Book of Mormon around and I told him that we have one in Turkish too! He was super excited and told us that we should come back and give him one another time!! It was super awesome. (Fast forward to now, we have talked with him, and he is still interested but was busy last week, so we'll see how it goes this week). But that was awesome. Then we had a great lesson with Tiburce. So Tiburce has had almost all the lessons and is super aweseome, he has just not yet gotten an answer that the Book of Mormon is true. But after the lesson he said that we would keep praying and "the day I get an answer I will call you up and be baptized" haha. It was super awesome, but we just need to help him get an answer. He asked us to pray for him, and he said he would pray. So if y'all could also pray for him that would be great. Then another small dope thing, when we were riding back home we ran into an old friend that missed our meeting from the week before, and so we scheduled another appointment (which will be another story below.) Sooooo the lesson of this story. Be humble, we are only accountable to God, and when things seem low; trust in the Lord and he will bring miracles and blessings.

Cool. Now I have a few other stories. But I decided to narrate them actually in a voice recording. Soo see that attached voice message for stories.

Quick update on who we are currently teaching

Dawn: Dawn is the girl we found the first day of this transfer. She is amazing. Within the first week we met with her, we had 5 lessons, and she has been reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. When she read and prayed the first time she couldn't sleep the entire night, b/c she couldn't stop thinking about it. The next night she prayed again, and again she said she couldn't sleep till 4 am. The next night she didn't pray cause she wanted to be able to sleep . But she told us, that was her answer. She knew it was true, and that she wanted to be baptized! You guys, you know how D&C 4 says that missionaries are called to the work b/c the "field is white, already to harvest" Dawn is exactly what this means. As missionaries we are not called to convince and force people to believe. We are here to find the people that are prepared, to find them and just be there to share the gospel and then THEY on their own accord accept it. We are just called to help them. She is currently on vacation, but she is planning to be baptized when she gets back on March 10 (which she picked herself b/c it is her birthday too).

Frank: Frank is the friend of Sochima and he is also awesome. He was on vacation for a while for christmas and we have only seen him once since he got back. He is still really interested, but exams for the Uni here are coming up this week and so everyone is busy and stressed... But I still have high hopes for Frank

Tiburce: I told the story about him earlier, he has had a lot of lessons we just need to help him get an answer about the Book of Mormon.

Kishore: So I don't think I have ever really talked about Kishore. So Kishore was living near Hamburg for work/school for about 4 months, but had recieved all the lessons prior to moving. He didn't have a ton of contact with missionaries in Hamburg but went to church a few times. He came back to Jena about 2 weeks ago. He is super awesome. His native language is Telegu and his English is good, but there is still definitely a language barrier still and it makes it hard espeically with gospel/church words. But he has a great testimony, just gets a little confused sometimes. But his heart is in the right place! So Kishore wants to get baptized, but he wants to do it in India so his family can see (they aren't members). The church in India is growin, but it is going to be hard to organize everything over there. So we are working with him and he has some member friends in India that we are working with to figure everything out.

Sochima and Liu: We just finished up the new member lessons with both of them and they are both awesome! They do a ton of missionary work and invite friends all the time.

Farid: He comes from a Muslim background, but is interested in learning more. It is always hard to talk about Jesus Christ and him being the son of God, but it made sense to Farid even though in his religion it is pretty much blasphemy. But he is really cool guy regaurdless.
