Frohe Weihnachten/Merry Christmas!
Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas and great holiday break! In Germany, Christmas is spread out across 3 days the 24th is the big day and then the 25 and 26 are still very big and everything is closed down. It is really awesome because everyone spends time with their families, but not the greatest for us because all the students here go home for the holidays and so we are left with not a whole lot to do haha. So this week we made lots of bake goods and ate wayyyy too much. We also studied lots more than usual which was really nice and I got to learn a lot more.
Right now, we still don't have very much to do because everyone is still out of town. But that's OK, because we got our transfer calls! So I am staying in Jena, but Elder Kuttler is leaving and going to Flensburg which is wayyy up north. Like it borders Denmark, so that's cool. My new companion is going to be Elder Palmer, he is actually from my group so I know him really well from the MTC so it is gonna be awesome! Transfer day is on Wednesday next week, so tomorrow we are meeting with Liu and Sochima and some members so that Elder Kuttler can say goodbye to everyone.
Here's some cool stuff that happened during Christmas tho! So one of the days we cooked with Sochima, Liu and one of his friends. B/c the week before we cooked Chinese food with Liuu and his friends we told them we would cook some "American" food with them -- so we cooked tacos lol which are more Mexican, but Elder Kuttler is from Texas so close enough haha. We went to the Benson's house on Christmas day and cooked some good food. On Christmas eve, we went to the Stahle Family's house and it was super fun. So in Germany everyone opens their presents on the 24th and so this family has two littler kids and so they opened all their presents and it was really cute. Also the 3- year- old little daughter was talking to us and after a few sentences of response she turned to her mom and said "Mama, warum spricht die Elders so komish" which means why do the elders talk so funny? It was really cute and we all cracked up. But it was really cool and I my German is finally to the point where i can tell stories and actually have a good conversation so it was really cool.
Love you all
